Lake Chapala Green Group Meeting, September 6, 2011
Hi, there, Green Group-ers,
We're baaack! Its been a long hot summer for most of us, and we look forward to cooler weather, and the return to the Lake Chapala Green Group lecture series. After three months off, we are resuming our popular monthly program of interesting and important sustainable living topics for the lakeside community.
Our first meeting of the season is Tuesday, September 6th, at 3:00 pm on the back patio at LCS. Our speaker is Aurora Michel Galindo. You may know Aurora from her executive position at Actinver, or as one of the strongest activists of our lakeside community. She brings a lifetime of practical experience on how to live sustainably. She recalls that as a child, the family garden helped to feed a family of 10 children. Even in hard times, there was enough food.
Aurora will have a wonderful presentation, telling us about a couple of community programs, including a major reforestation project by local youth, and a new community-based water purification project in Tlachichilco. Aurora's message will offer insights on how the foreign community can successfully invest our resources and energies in helping to develop strong bonds with our neighbors.
Hope to see you all there.
